Mary Rose Sword

The Mary Rose sank off Portsmouth in 1545 where it remained for nearly 450 years.When it was raised in 1972, a basket hilted sword was found under the hull, the earliest dating of such a weapon. Remarkably it was still intact after all those years under the seabed.
