Claymore

Claymore

Cladheamh-mor in Gaelic, means "Great Sword." This was a typical broadsword of Scottish clansmen in the 16th and 17th Century. Though unsuitable for flight at close quarters, they could deliver a fatal blow to heavily armed horsemen. The cross-piece features a typical Gaelic trefoil ornamentation at the tips of the quilons.
